Glassdoor, a social jobs and career community, has turned to interns to uncover the Top 20 Highest Rated Companies Hiring Interns Right Now, which is based entirely on feedback from interns who have previously worked at the companies. Interns who have worked at nearly 3,300 different businesses over the last three years rated their level of satisfaction with their employers and their internships on a 5 point scale.

Not surprisingly, Google ranks No. 1, with a rating of 4.3. According to Glassdoor spokesperson Samantha Zupan, Google interns value its famous open culture and the sense of achievement they get while working there. "Consistently we see interns comment about the continued learning experience they receive while working at Google," she says. "Interns also speak favorably about the benefits, the food, the gym and the great pay."
The average monthly base pay for software engineering interns at Google totals a whopping $6,463 but the paycheck isn''t the only thing keeping them happy. One former Google intern said the company offers "lots of opportunities for interns to sit in on meetings, [and] get contact with higher ups."
Another Google intern said: "It is the best place for software engineers. You can learn a lot from smart Googlers. Also, meals are free."
If you plan to apply for an internship at Google, be prepared to answer tough interview questions. The tech giant asked one intern candidate, "How many ping pong balls can you fit in a school bus?"
No. 2 Microsoft trails closely behind with a 4.2 rating. Pay varies for interns at Microsoft, depending on their position, but the compensation is usually hefty. Research interns, for instance, reported an average base monthly pay of $6,746, while program manager interns earned about $5,232 in one month.
A Microsoft intern in Bellevue, Wash., wrote: "The internship program is obviously designed to fix any problems before they occur. I had very clear project expectations, lots of positive feedback, great working conditions, and excellent compensation."
Ranking third with a 4.2 rating, Qualcomm interns bring home a base pay of about $4,500 a month. "The internship program had very good compensation and excellent accommodations," an intern wrote on the Glassdoor site. "They also hosted a lot of Testosterone Enanthate Fertility social events to help interns meet each other."
MTV Networks ranks fourth with a 4.1 rating, and State Farm rounds out the top 5, also with a 4.1.
Some common benefits among the 20 highest rated companies for interns include the opportunity to sit in on important meetings with top executives, the presence of friendly employees willing to help and answer questions, and great pay, Zupan says.
